Inside Out PB Cup Protein Bliss Balls
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups were my all-time favorite growing up! When I was about 9-years old, almost every day of summer, I’d stop by the old fashioned Balboa Candy store on my bike ride home Junior Lifeguards, and pick up a few miniatures to eat on the ride home. And this was after, me and my friend’s had a slice of pizza and a giant soda at Gina’s Pizza. Oh, the memories!
Nowadays, I’ll still enjoy a peanut butter or cashew butter cup every now and again, but I have a hard time with portion control, and I’m also trying to cut down my sweets cravings. Sooooo, I created this treat to indulge in as a sweet treat OR a great pre/post-workout snack.
Bliss balls are really forgiving so feel free to use this recipe as a general guide line and add what you like! If you want to use some mylk chocolate, add nuts, or omit the chocolate, go for it! Bliss balls are what you make of them! The key is for them to not be too dry and completely fall apart AND be totally, utterly delicious.
Ingredients:
Chocolate Ganache Center
1/4 cup @enjoylifefoods chocolate chips
1 tsp coconut oil
For the Peanut Butter Protein Bliss Ball
3/4 cup Smooth Peanut Butter
1/3 cup Buckwheat Groats
1 1/2 tbsp Honey
1-2 scoops @primalkitchenfoods vanilla collagen fuel (or your protein powder of choice but this one’s my fave!)
1 scoop of @vitalproteins collagen peptides
2 tbsp cacao powder (optional) .
Directions:
For the chocolate ganache:
Melt the chocolate and coconut oil together in the microwave in 15 second increments. Once melted, mix together until smooth and put in the freezer for 5 minutes.
Scoop out and roll the ganache into little balls and put back into the freezer until frozen.
For the PB Bliss Balls
Add all ingredients together, and mix well. If the consistency is too dry, add filtered water 1tsp at a time. If too wet, add extra protein powder! Oat and/or almond flour will work too!
Scoop out each bliss ball (I use a 1 1/2 tbsp scooper), and place a chocolate ball in the center, roll it all together into a perfect lil bliss ball.
OPTIONAL: If you want extra chocolate flavor, roll it in some cacao powder!!
Refrigerate and ENJOY!
This bliss ball is still totally delicious without the chocolate center, but I highly recommend it! And for an ooey gooey center,I suggest heating ‘em up in the microwave for 10 seconds. Hope you like them and if you make them or have any feedback let me know in the comments or on my instagram!
